NEW YORK - Newtek Business Services, Inc., a provider of business services and financial products to the small business market, has hired three more persons to its accounting and finance department.
Robert Abramowski, James Werner, and Victor Karim are the newest hires. A CPA, Werner's previous experience includes WE Media, Inc., a controller for J.P. Morgan Securities, Ernst & Young, LLP and Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Abramowski, also a CPA, has more than 20 years of experience including at Team Health, Inc. and a CFO at a publicly-traded company. Karim's experience includes stints at XL Global Services and PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.
"We are very pleased to have recently made these three quality hires to increase the quality and depth of our accounting and finance department," said Michael Holden, CFO of Newtek Business Services. "The additions will increase our ability to meet the needs of our growing businesses by significantly improving our technical capability."
Newtek also said that it will file its March 31, 2006 10-Q on or before July 14 and its June 30, 2006 10-Q on or before Aug. 14.
The company, which has been CUNA's alliance provider for SBA lending and other businesses services since 2003, recently launched a Web site, www.cusmallbusiness.com, for credit unions.
