ALBANY, N.Y. - IA Systems, a subsidiary of Securian Financial Group, has promoted chief operating officer Chris Cazer to president with the expectation he will take over as CEO once current CEO Deborah Ryan retires at the end of the year. Ryan, CEO since 2001, is stepping down to pursue other interests. During her tenure at IA Systems, the company more than tripled its revenue and doubled its client base. Ryan also led the development and launch of IA Systems' new Web-based loan processing system, StreamLend Velocity. "The board of directors of IA Systems and I have complete confidence in Chris' ability to lead this company," Ryan said. "He has the industry insight, knowledge and leadership skills necessary to take IA Systems and StreamLend Velocity to new heights." Cazer joined the company in 2004 as vice president of client services. Prior to IA Systems, Cazer was senior vice president of engineering and chief technology officer of Excelergy. IA Systems' flagship product, StreamLend Velocity, is a paperless, Web-based loan origination system.
