CU Trades Continue `Knock It Off' Ads
WASHINGTON - CUNA and NAFCU are continuing with their joint ad campaign on Capitol Hill telling the bankers to "Knock It Off." In their latest round of advertising to hit Washington, D.C., CUNA and NAFCU open up their newspaper ad that ran in Roll Call, Congressional Quarterly, and CQ Daily with "America's Banks: The Most Profitable Industry in the Country" in bold print. It points out that banks have made more money than any other industry since 2000. The advertisement continues, "The banking industry is making billions of dollars in profits, yet these banks are still attacking America's non-profit credit unions. Why? Because America's credit unions provide quality financial services without the bloated fees the banks charge." In line with a continuing theme, it urges lawmakers to tell banks to "Just Knock It Off!" CUNA Senior Vice President of Political Affairs Richard Gose said that credit unions representatives visiting their lawmakers over the Fourth of July recess would also pound home this message.
