COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. - Ent Federal Credit Union is tossing its hat into the Health Savings Accounts ring. "In recent years, health care costs have outpaced inflation and wage increases and the number of employers offering health plans continues to decline," said Ent Senior Vice President, Corporate Communication and Development James P. Moore, "HSAs are one way for families to pay for healthcare using pre-tax dollars." HSAs are tax-free savings accounts that can be used to pay for medical expenses including prescription and over the counter drugs incurred by individuals, spouses or dependents. These accounts are accompanied by high-deductible comprehensive insurance policies that cover preventive care and larger medical bills. Unused HSA money rolls over from year to year and can then be used to pay for medical care up to the plan's deductible. Ent's Health Savings Accounts offer: *No minimum balance to open and no monthly fees *Unlimited check writing for easy access to funds *Attractive, tiered dividend rates *Tax-exempt withdrawals for qualified medical expenses In Colorado, HSA contributions are tax-exempt at both the state and federal level.
