HALIFAX, Pa. - Lending Edge Consulting, Inc. has launched to provide commercial credit analysis services to credit unions and banks. The firm opened for business this month and was formed by Molly Snody, who has more than 15 years of experience working with both CUs and banks in loan operations management, credit department administration and training, according to the new company. The firm will help financial institutions assess and analyze a commercial client's creditworthiness, which often leads to deciding on approving a business loan versus experiencing a substantial loss, Snody said. Credit unions, CUSOs and other financial institutions that already have internal commercial credit analysis capabilities can used the firm's service as a "stop-gap solution," Snody said, adding scenarios such as "spikes in volume, unexpected employee vacancies or occasionally need an independent opinion."
