Fraudulent Phone Calls Hit Wauna FCU

CLATSKANIE, Ore. - There is so much talk about high-tech fraud like phishing, but the low-tech efforts can be equally effective. Wauna Federal Credit Union has its eyes on someone claiming to be from the credit union and asking for personal and financial account information. The credit union has informed its members about the individual. "What should you do if you get a phone call like this? Just hang up! Never provide your personal or financial account information unless you called your branch. If you have concerns about your account call or go to a local branch, but do not give any information over the phone on an unsolicited call. There has not been a breach in security. Wauna Federal Credit Union wants to inform members about fraudulent behavior because member safety and security is the top priority," wrote Aimee McFadden, marketing specialist in a letter to members.
