SAN DIMAS, Calif. - Financial Service Centers Cooperative, the nationwide shared branching network which is headquartered on the West Coast, has appeared in a segment of World Business Review, a paid programming business show which airs on Bravo and CNBC. FSCC did not pay directly to be on the program, according to CEO Sarah Canepa Bang, but the shared branching network did negotiate to buy rebroadcast rights to be able to put the segment on the network's Web site. "We had been looking at doing a video anyway," Bang said, "and they were so expensive that we thought if the WBR program did a good job it might be a way to get one made." Bang said that WBR approached her about doing the segment after first approaching CUES for recommendations for who might be interested in the paid exposure. CUES spokesman Teri Schacker explained that CUES had been approached about other possible credit union industry topics after it did a segment on its ServiStar program, a training and consulting service CUES offers with Michael Neill & Associates. "That segment went well enough that we served as liaison between the program and other members of our CUES Financial Suppliers Forum," explained Schacker. Fred Johnson, CEO of CUES, was also found to have a strong enough on-screen presence that he was invited to host the other segments as well. So far, PEMCO, a card processing organization headquartered in Seattle, has also appeared in a segment, Schacker said. The segment aired on CNBC on Jan. 19 at 11:00 p.m. Pacific Time and will do so again on Jan 29. at 3:00 p.m., Eastern Time, according to WBR. It also aired at 7:00 a.m. Jan. 23 in both the Pacific and Eastern Time zones, WBR said. In addition the program will air on United Airlines flights and in various airports around the country, the program said. -dmorrison@cutimes.com
