JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Community First Credit Union of Florida has added its name to the growing list of credit unions participating in CUNA's Home Loan Payment Relief program. The $1 billion credit union committed $7.5 million to the HLPR program. CFCU President/CEO John Hirabayashi said, "With real estate prices in greater Jacksonville continuing to climb, many low- and moderate income families are missing the opportunity to pursue the American dream of homeownership. We believe the HLPR mortgage is an innovative solution that will narrow the widening gap between the incomes of average families and the affordability of a first home." So far almost 90 credit unions have committed nearly $1 billion to the program. -
