ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - James Raquet, who served as president/CEO of U.S. New Mexico Federal Credit Union from December 1999 to May 2003, has returned to take over the helm again. Raquet returned to the $457 million credit union on Dec. 12, 2005 after serving as president/CEO of $263 million Del Norte Credit Union in Los Alamos since January 2004. Raquet replaces Steve Marcum, who left U.S. New Mexico FCU in May 2005. Jeff McDaniel had been serving as interim CEO. Raquet was chief operations officer at U.S. New Mexico FCU from October 1994 to November 1996. He also served as an advisor to the board of directors and chairperson of the technology committee, before taking the top post of U.S. New Mexico FCU for the first time in December 1999. Raquet's last day at Del Norte Credit Union was Dec. 9, 2005, said Chuck Valenti, chief financial officer who will also serve as interim CEO. "He provided some strong leadership and helped establish good relationships with employees," Valenti said. "We will miss him and wish him well."
