NEW YORK - Community Development Credit Unions were represented at New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg's Jan. 1 inauguration. Cliff Rosenthal, executive director of the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions, attended the event as an invited member of the New York City Consumer Council. Rosenthal praised the cooperation New York's CDCUs have received from the Bloomberg Administration, particularly in helping New Yorkers take advantage of the Earned Income Tax Credit and Volunteer Income Tax Assistance programs. "It's been very gratifying for the federation and our CDCUs in New York to work with the Department of Consumer Affairs on these programs, which have returned tens of millions of dollars to low-wage New York City workers," said Rosenthal.
