New Voting Poll: Will Shared Branching Get a Boost From Hurricanes?
WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. - Credit unions affected by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita have learned what they did well and what they didn't do so well in terms of disaster planning. One system that many credit unions experiencing facility damage have called on is shared branching. Credit unions that are members of shared branching networks have been able to direct members to the nearest shared branching facilities. Members who were displaced from Louisiana and moved to Texas for example had many shared branch outlets in Texas to choose from. So will credit unions that haven't been users of shared branching sign on to networks? That is the focus of Credit Union Times' new voting poll. Given the success of shared branching in helping credit unions damaged by recent hurricanes serve members, will more credit unions become users of shared branching networks? * Yes * No * Not Sure
