I would like to publicly thank Mike Welch for his outstanding 794 straight columns written over the last 15 years. While I did not always agree with every opinion, I always agreed that they were written with class and fairness and at all times fun to read. Credit Union Times has no real competition in my opinion. Mike and his staff produced an extraordinary publication over the years. From the quality of paper, to the excellent reporting and great layout, it's been first-class all the way. I agree with Mike that Credit Union Times will continue to be a great publication because of the talented staff. He has provided a strong foundation for the new owners just as he did when he took the fledging CUES organization and gave it vitality and direction. Without his leadership CUES would not be around today. I have been a fan of Mike Welch since I became involved with credit unions, but more importantly, he became a true friend.
