A picture is worth a 1,000 words goes the old adage. Maybe that's why the use of good quality color photographs in the editorial pages of Credit Union Times has increased so dramatically over the past 18 months or so. Even the greatly expanded letters to the editor section now makes use of color mug shots of the letter writers. But using more mug shots also presents a problem. A lot of credit union people in the news, even CEOs and national leaders, don't have good color photos of themselves. But they should. Good public relations practioners know that the time to make sure Credit Union Times has a professional looking picture of their boss is before it is needed. Editors appreciate it when they receive mug shots of newsmakers to put in the publication's archives ready for use at a moments notice. So send your existing color mug shots to Editor Paul Gentile (pgentile@cutimes.com) today, or get one taken ASAP.
