WALNUT CREEK, Calif. - As corporate sponsor of the 2005 Rubber Ducky Derby, Pacific Service Credit Union is asking members and residents alike to "adopt a duck." The 14th Annual Rubber Ducky Derby is a major fundraiser for Oakland's Children's Hospital. "We have been a sponsor of the Rubber Ducky Derby since 2001," said Tom Smigielski, president of Pacific Service CU. "We're glad to support Children's Hospital, because children throughout the Bay Area benefit from its services. Each year Children's Hospital provides medical treatment for more than 170,000 children, regardless of a family's ability to pay." The annual Rubber Ducky Derby has raised more than $1.2 million for Children's Hospital and Research Center at Oakland, the most comprehensive children's diagnostic facility in the western U.S.
