CHICAGO -Credit union IT veteran Rudy Pereira will still be working on tech in a billion CU, but the locales are quite different. He has been named senior vice president of operations and technology at $4.5 billion Alliant Credit Union in Chicago. Pereira had been senior vice president/chief information officer at $2.8 billion Kinecta Federal Credit Union in Manhattan Beach, Calif., where his tenure included a host system conversion and a National Association of Federal Credit Unions' award in 2000 for a Kinecta-launched Internet banking solution. At Alliant, Pereira succeeds Bob Newcomb, now the CEO at Indiana State University Federal Credit Union. Pereira, a graduate of Cal State-Northridge, also has been a vice president with Schools Financial CU in Sacramento, Calif., and a programming manager and IS vice president at Wescom Credit Union in Pasadena, Calif. He starts his new job with Alliant on May 16.
