Boards Make News

Today's volunteer credit union boards have so much on their policymaker plates that it has become a real challenge to just try and stay ahead of the curve. Not only because credit unions are larger, but mostly because they have become so complex. Important decisions can no longer be made without being plugged in to what other CU boards are doing. To help all credit union board members stay current, Credit Union Times has stepped up its editorial coverage involving board matters. Readers may have noticed in recent months more news and feature stories involving the important role played by CU volunteers. Board members can now find in these pages innovative ideas that work, solid decision-making strategies, lively board profiles, and a host of tips and tactics that can help them function more effectively. Senior staff reporter Myriam DiGiovanni is handling the beefed up board coverage. Watch for her stories (see page 22 of this issue) and feel free to contact her at mdigiovanni@cutimes.com with comments and suggestions. -
