SAN FRANCISCO - Marinette County Employees Credit Union was one of 10 Progress Software Corp. customers named Laureates in the 2005 Computerworld Honors 21st Century Achievement Awards program. The $14 million Wisconsin CU was nominated for reducing its monthly costs by 25% through its use of Progress Software tools deployed as part of the credit union's core processing relationship with Indiana-based Bradford-Scott Data Corp. (www.bradfordscott.com). The software enables account overdrafts and fees to be automatically tallied each morning, and loan payments and other account transfers scheduled for a recurring date. The credit union also benefits from a savings of at least two employee hours per day, according to the nomination. Representatives from Massachusetts-based Progress Software (www.progress.com) and the nominated organizations attended a medal ceremony held by Computerworld in their honor Monday at City Hall in San Francisco. The companies and organizations nominated for the Computerworld Honors Awards each provide a unique value to their end users, according to the computer industry publication. The entire of group of 50 Laureates will be the field for 10 21st Century Achievement Awards to be presented by Computerworld in June in Washington, D.C.
