Municipal Employees Credit Union, Baltimore, Md., staffers have once again donated their time to help Maryland Public Television(MPT). Some 29 MECU staffers volunteered to answer phones during MPT's spring pledge drive. This year, over $25,000 was raised during the period that MECU answered the phones. MECU has been a long time supporter of MPT. Ohio University Credit Union, Athens, has donated more than 300 items for care packages for 45 Ohio University students and employees actively serving in the U.S. military. Organized by Ohio University College of Business and the OU Veteran's Support Group, OUCU employees and volunteers donated over $425 and OUCU donated an additional $100. Ohio University covered postage. State Employees' Credit Union, Raleigh, N.C., has donated two "Triumph at Kitty Hawk" publications to each of the public middle and high schools in North Carolina. "Triumph at Kitty Hawk," written by Thomas Parramore, tells of the Wright brothers' exploits at Kitty Hawk from a North Carolina perspective. SECU purchased the publications through the State of North Carolina's Department of Cultural Resources and originally sold the publication during a fundraising drive to help benefit patient programs at North Carolina's state mental hospitals. The remaining books will now fill the libraries of North Carolina's public schools.
