$1 Million Iowa CU First to Use New HFS Platform

FORT DODGE, Iowa - Gas & Electric Employees Credit Union here is the first to use Harland Financial Solutions' new hosted core processing solution. The $1.1 million, 333-member CU is now on the CuServ Evolution-ASP platform delivered through Harland's Enterprise Service Center in Des Moines. "Outsourcing our data processing provides us with all the functionality our credit union needs and allows us to focus on serving our members rather than managing the system internally," says Trudy Koppen, manager of Gas & Electric Employees CU, $1.5 million Postal Employees Credit Union and $10.6 million Frontier Credit Union. "We plan on moving our other two credit unions to the ASP delivery as soon as possible," Koppen says. "The rollout of CuServ Evolution-ASP enables those credit unions that are not interested or able to manage an in-house system the freedom to rely on our expertise to do it for them. All a credit union needs is a PC and a high-speed Internet connection," says Bob Demeter, director of operations for Harland Financial Solutions' CuServ business. HFS now provides core processing to more than 660 credit unions, in-house and through service bureaus, using the ULTRADATA or CuServ Evolution platforms.
