SAN DIEGO - Cabrillo Credit Union has developed a special donation program that will allow members to turn their Gold MasterCard ScoreCard points into donations. For the first time, the credit card's accumulated points that traditionally have only been used for travel and gift redemption, can be used to make cash donations to the American Red Cross to help tsunami victims through February 11. "As a business that has offices in the fire-affected areas of San Diego, we are well-aware of the impact of this kind of natural disaster," said Cabrillo CU CEO Robin Lentz. "Because credit unions are not-for-profit and member owned, Cabrillo can be more flexible in this time of need. We are here to help in any way we can."
