Unused, Redundant, Outdated Software Piles Up in IT Shops, on Networks
PALO ALTO, Calif. - Got outdated, redundant and otherwise unused or usable software sitting around your credit union? You're not alone. More than 40% of respondents to a survey of business and IT executives by the Business Performance Management (BPM) Forum said that such software drains 10% or more of their IT budgets. And 70% of the respondents said they have redundant, deficient or obsolete applications on their networks. The survey included responses from 226 organizations ranging from small to worldwide and was part of a BPM study titled "Software Drain or Business Gain: Assessing Application Value, Relevance and Cost to Your Company."
