WASHINGTON-The Federal Reserve Board has announced that its Consumer Advisory Council will meet Thursday, Oct. 28 to discuss a wide array of subjects. Topics of discussion are expected to include the Fed's Community Reinvestment Act proposal, overdraft protection, anti-predatory lending laws, and the Electronic Funds Transfer Act. The CAC advises the Fed board on its responsibilities under consumer financial services laws and other matters as the board seeks advice. E Federal Credit Union CEO Ken Bordelon sits on the advisory council. The meeting is open to the public and those planning to attend should register by Oct. 26 at https://www.federalreserve.gov/secure/forms/cacregistration.cfm. In related news, CUNA submitted its nomination for the Fed's Thrift Institutions Advisory Council. As NAFCU already has, CUNA nominated San Antonio Federal Credit Union President and CEO Jeff Farver for a seat on the board.
