WAUSAU, Wis. - Wausau Benefits, a member of the Fiserv Health Group, has launched a high deductible health plan product offering for self-funded employers. The HDH plan has a deductible of at least $1,000 for single coverage and at least $2,000 for family coverage and is a required component for any business that plans to offer a health savings account (HSA) to its members. An HSA allows high deductible health plan members to save money free of federal income tax and payroll taxes for future medical costs. The funds and earnings are never taxed as long as they are used for qualified medical expenses and can be withdrawn at any time. The plan includes account management, enrollment meeting facilitation, coordination of member services with the HSA custodian and Web links to the HSA custodians. In addition, funds can be accessed via HSA debit cards or checking accounts.
