Corillian Launches Solution Aimed at Preempting Attacks
PORTLAND, Ore. - Corillian Corp. has put together a new anti-phishing solution it says features Web log analysis and methodology that can help proactively take on the problem of fraudsters sending e-mails to unsuspecting consumers who then go to phony Web sites and reveal personal information. The Corillian Fraud Detection System is available to any financial institution, regardless of its Internet banking vendor, and is designed to identify phishing behaviors before they turn into full-scale attacks, the company says. Corillian's security team designed the system to allow Web administrators to recognize phishing attacks step-by-step as they develop and are being deployed against an institution's Web site and its users. The system is designed to provide preemptive attack identification as well as quickly identify account holders who may have fallen victim, the company says. That allows the financial institutions to adjust the security measures around the potentially compromised account, and provides an opportunity to help educate that consumer about the threat of phishing and how to avoid it, Corillian says.
