VIENNA, Va. - A record-breaking 26 Navy Federal Credit Union on-base branches have been nominated for the "Best Navy Credit Union of the Year" award. Annually, the Office of the Assistant Secretary of the Navy recognizes the on-base financial institution-credit union and bank-that provided exceptional service to military and civilian personnel based on recommendations submitted by base commanders. Nominations are evaluated on the following criteria: service above and beyond normal requirements; special services provided at command request; financial educations and counseling services; community support; and professional attitude/financial leadership. Last year 23 of the $21 billion credit union's branches were nominated.
