In reference to Mike Welch's Sept. 17 Column, "Are Matricula Consular Cards Good or Bad?" I offer this perspective: The U.S. Patriot Act says credit unions need to see ID (of any kind of photo identification from any country) and need to know the true identity of the person - just like any organization serving the public.
