RALEIGH, N.C. - GE Mortgage Insurance contributed $100,000 to The North Carolina Central University Foundation to help create The Center for the Study of Real Estate Finance at the university, the first public liberal arts institution in the U.S. founded for African Americans The new facility will assist in educating diverse populations about home ownership and financial opportunities, and promote research on issues relating to minority home ownership. The Center, which is scheduled to open in 2004, will also study the feasibility of offering undergraduate and graduate degree programs in Real Estate Mortgage Finance and Insurance.
