In the tangled web that is the federal government, credit unions fall under the jurisdiction of several regulators beyond NCUA and state regulators. And as credit unions expand their services, reach into new areas, and stretch for new authorities the Washington acronym alphabet soup list grows-from DOJ to DOL and from NACHA to FinCEN. Compliance with so many is accepted as necessary evils in order to be able to play in the financial services game. Here is just a taste of the referees.
