CLEARWATER, Fla. - The $133 million NuMark Credit Union mailed prospective cardholders a magic wand with an application for the credit union's cards inside as a way of building interest in its card program. The Joliet, Illinois-based institution was one of the credit unions recognized for its marketing efforts by Card Services for Credit Unions, the association of credit unions who process their card transactions with card giant Certegy. In addition to NuMark, the $1.9 billion Randolph Brooks FCU won in the over 10,000 accounts category for its cash-back card campaign which used many different media to get their message across, including branch merchandising, direct mail letters, newsletters, print advertising, employee incentives, and web site branding, CSCU said. The $153 million Ohio University Employees credit union, based in Athens, Ohio, won in the under 10,000 accounts category for using many different kinds of media, including a redesign of their cards in their marketing effort, CSCU said.
