Robins Federal Credit Union, Warner Robins, Ga., has recognized several employees for their outstanding community service and outstanding achievements on the job. This year's winners include: Gladys Barfield, who was presented the 2002 Hope Award for volunteering in the most activities with a total of eight activities; Christiane Belisle, who was awarded the 2002 Care Award for volunteering the most hours with a total of 109 hours; Scott Kletcke, who was named Manager of the Year; and Jo Pitts who was named Employee of the Year. SAC Federal Credit Union, Omaha, Neb., Special Accounts staffer and Retired Senior Master Sgt. Frank Palumbo has received the Airman's Medal for Valor. Congressman Lee Terry was instrumental in securing the medal for Palumbo 43 years after he saved two men from the ocean. North Island Financial Credit Union, Chula Vista, Calif., has been presented the 2003 Effective Advertising on Radio Award by San Diego Radio Broadcasters Association (SDRBA). The credit union's `Cat of the Month' radio spot was written and produced by Buchalter Consulting. The purpose of the EAR Awards is to recognize and celebrate the effective use of the radio medium. Candidates are evaluated primarily on the measurable results of the radio spot and secondarily on the creative, writing and production values of the commercial. United Financial Services Community Federal Credit Union, CEO Linda Farro Wood has been named the New Jersey FBLA Local Chapter Professional of the Year. The credit union CEO was recognized for her contribution to the "Partnership with Business" project, which placed third in the State competition.
