Lake Michigan Credit Union, Grand Rapids, has been named the Best in Community Service by the Better Business Bureau of Western Michigan. LMCU was chosen from a field of twenty-six companies representing 37 Michigan counties. The BBB Best in Business Awards recognizes companies in the community that operate with integrity and ethical business practices. Denton Area Teachers Credit Union, Ohio, Indirect Lending Department has been presented the Director's Award by the Children's Advocacy Center of Denton County. DATCU received the award as a result of its Associate Member Program. With this program, potential members of the credit union, join the Children's Advocacy Center as an associate member and receive membership privileges to the credit union. This successful program has contributed $50,000 to the children of Denton County since its inception. Louisiana Credit Union League, Harahan, Senior Member Services Consultant Susie Fair, CCUE, has been presented the Distinguished Fellow award. The award is presented to Certified Credit Union Executives that continue their professional development through additional studies, participation in financial education initiatives, and other activities that promote and support the credit union movement.
