According to the trade associations, the ritual is an act of patriotism in deference to the red, white, and blue. Also, many of the largest credit unions are associated with the military. But what is the color guard? A color guard is comprised of a few soldiers, typically four, charged with protecting the flag and performing flag raising and lowering ceremonies.
