NASCUS annual conference postponed until December

ARLINGTON, Va. - In the wake of the World Trade Center and Pentagon tragedies, the NASCUS Board decided to postpone its annual conference until December . The conference has been rescheduled for Dec. 14-18. It was supposed to take place Sept. 13-18. NASCUS President/CEO Doug Duerr said the annual conference will still be held at the Laguna Marriott Cliffs Hotel in Dana Point, Calif., as was originally planned. The hotel is handling all the cancellations. All NASCUS members who were registered to attend the September conference are automatically registered for December. NASCUS is also hoping to have the same speakers address conferees in December as were going to in September, but it will depend on the speakers' prior commitments. "We understand that everyone in America is deeply hurt by the tragedy of yesterday's events, and frankly this weekend is a time when our obligations to our families, communities and individual businesses supercede our obligations to the larger credit union movement. The board's decision to postpone the conference was made after careful consideration of all of the factors," said Duerr.
