WASHINGTON-This week CUNA plans to hold a public relations advocacy meeting for the American Association of Credit Union Leagues (AACUL). Mark Wolff, CUNA vice president of communications, said the group will use the opportunity to look at major public relations issues both on the political side and the marketplace side. A key topic of discussion for the group will be how to expand beyond coverage in the trade publications into news media read by the general public. Virginia Credit Union League President Rick Pillow chairs the AACUL Public Relations Advocacy Committee. Robert Walls, president of the Delaware Credit Union League, serves as vice-chair. The AACUL PR Advocacy Committee's goal is "to help leagues perpetuate a favorable image for credit unions, leagues, and the credit union community with policymakers, CU members, and the general public.
