NAFCU's Keefe jumps to CUNA

WASHINGTON -Veteran NAFCU Vice President for Communications and Technology Pat Keefe will be ending 16 years of NAFCU service and go to work for rival CUNA on June 5. There he will assume the newly created position of vice president of communications and media outreach, and will be responsible for media relations, communications strategic planning, and "involvement in raising the awareness and visibility of such key CUNA initiatives as the National Credit Union Brand Campaign and CUNA's new partnership with the National Endowment for Financial Education," according to a CUNA press release.

"Pat brings a wealth of experience, accomplishment and communications skill and will be a tremendous addition for us," said CUNA President Dan Mica of the acquisition. "We are very excited to have him on board."

Said to have agonized over the move, Keefe released a statement stating, "It was a difficult decision to make, but I finally made the decision comfortable with the knowledge that I am completely satisfied with my tenure and activities at NAFCU. I am, however, interested in challenges for my career, and this new position presents those challenges to me."

"I am grateful for the many opportunities I was given at NAFCU, and I'm proud for whatever small part I may have played in the success of NAFCU as a team over the years. I know that NAFCU will continue to be an effective representative for its members in the future."
